Lectured the LLB (Hons) Programme in Singapore with Stanfield School Of Business and was the General Manager for Singapore Institute Of Commerce, Singapore.
Upon Dato’ S.M.Karunananthan’s return from Singapore in 1996, he joined Messrs. Maxwell, Kenion Cowdy & Jones, Ipoh as a Lawyer wherein he was in charge of the Insurance claims portfolio of Tahan Insurance (People’s Insurance) and MBF Insurance.
Thereafter in 2002, Dato’ M. Karunananthan joined Shamini Karu & Leong, Ipoh as a Partner and has been practicing with us since then.
Dato’ M. Karunananthan is known for his ability in litigation matters, especially third party claims. Our Dato’ M. Karunananthan has been handling matters for People’s Insurance since 1997, during his practice at Messrs.Maxwell Kenion Cowdy & Jones, Ipoh. Dato’ M. Karunananthan had also handled third party claims’ for Oriental Capital Assurance Berhad and has litigated successfully.
Dato’ M. Karunananthan has also in recent times successfully defended The Estate Of Nagaritnam at the Ipoh High Court against WESTPORT MALAYSIA SDN BHD for a negligence suit and it was subsequently reported in the Malayan Law Journal – ESTATE OF NAGARITNAM V WESTPORT MALAYSIA SDN BHD [2015] MLJU 322.
